Double Eagle Stables
Lessons
Double Eagle stables offers lessons in both Western and English riding, including western pleasure, hunters, jumpers, equitation, and dressage. We teach at all levels from never-been-on-a-horse to successfully competing at A-circuit shows. Lessons are customized to the pace, skill, and discipline of the rider. Our lessons emphasize fundamental horsemanship, including proper grooming, horse care, and ground work. All jumping riders are taught in-depth flatwork, including some dressage, as a foundation for advanced jumping skills. Riders can ride their own horses or one of Double Eagle Stables' gentle and experienced lesson horses.
We offer private lessons (just you and the trainer), semiprivate lessons with only two riders, triprivate lessons for groups of three, and group lessons for groups of four to six riders. Lessons do not include more than six riders except as part of Children's Horsemanship Day classes, clinics, or GU classes.

Children's Horsemanship Day Classes
Children's Horsemanship Day Class is a one week set of day classes that teach riders of all ages the basics of horsemanship and horse care and provides an introduction to riding. We start from the basics, including brushing, tacking, leading, mounting, and riding the horse. Students will be broken into groups according to skill and prior riding experience so that riding lessons can be tailored to individual needs. Other activities will include horse related arts and crafts, and lessons in horse anatomy and health.
There will be three sessions this summer. The first will run June 21st-June 25th and costs $185 per student for the week. The second session runs June 28th-July 1st for $145 per student. The third session will run from July 5th-July 9th for $185 per student. Spots will be available in each session on a first come, first served basis. Call us at (509) 466-8895 to reserve a spot.
Clinics
Double Eagle Stables occasionally hosts clinics and invites guest trainers to teach different techniques and perspectives. Past guest clinicians have included Jeff Campf and John Turner. Check our home page for the latest news regarding upcoming and recent clinics and events.
GU Classes
GU students can receive P.E. credits for riding at Double Eagle Stables. GU classes are offered at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels in both Western and English disciplines. No prior experience is necessary for the beginning classes, which covers basics of riding, horse care, and horsemanship. Students with prior riding experience may want to sign up for the intermediate or advanced sections depending on amount of experience.
GU students should be advised, however, that lessons are given at Double Eagle Stables, and not the main GU campus. Students will need to find transportation, but we can help organize carpools. We require that students wear jeans and boots with a heel (or riding attire if you have it), as well as warm layers in the winter.
